Spring Fishing from Ryabaga Camp, Ponoi River

This video was made during the first week of the 2016 season, 28th May to 4th June. The river was in perfect condition and guests enjoyed great floating line and skated fly fishing. Having warmed up from the long winter and come in to condition, the river fishes at its very best which is why the first week, sometimes considered a gamble, is so often the best week of the season and is thus so often a gamble worth taking! What is shown in this video is very typical of spring fishing from Ryabaga Camp on the Ponoi (as is this film from 2013), lots of rises, lots of aggressive splashy takes and great strong fish from grilse up to and sometimes over 20lbs.
